With more than 30 years of experience in the racing industry, Tom Milner has developed successful programs in a wide variety of racing venues, including IMSA, SCCA and NASCAR. Early accomplishments include a partnership with Bill Scott Racing that produced 10 Formula Vee, Super Vee and Formula Ford championships from 1967 to 1984. PTG's first IMSA Camel GT success was in 1981, when it campaigned a Ford Mustang to two wins.

The team's first full season in the GTP division came in 1991. The team's Chevrolet Spice finished in the top 10 in every race but two, the most successful independent effort in the history of IMSA GTP racing. In 1992, the team fielded two Chevrolet Spice GTP cars, scoring a number of top-five finishes with drivers Wayne Taylor, Al Unser, Jr., John Paul, Jr., Francois Migault and Jeff Purner. In 1994, PTG ventured into NASCAR Busch Grand National racing, scoring a pair of top-10 finishes in the highly competitive series.

Drivers who have raced for Tom Milner and PTG include Bobby Rahal, Elliott Forbes-Robinson, Klaus Ludwig, Rick Mears, Kevin Cogan, Lyn St. James, Chip Robinson, Scott Goodyear, Arie Luyendyk, Tom Gloy, Paul Newman, Jeff Andretti, Scott Sharp, Derrike Cope, Johnny Rumley, David Donohue, Pete Halsmer and Jeff Green.

PTG occupies a modern 23,000-square-foot facility located just outside Winchester, Va. The company utilizes state-of-the-art equipment for the design, construction and testing of race cars and automotive components, including computer-aided design and drafting. PTG also provides engine building, dyno testing and machining and fabrication for both automobile and airplane engines.
