Background

 Michael Colucci has been a mainstay in racing for over 28 years; in that time, Colucci-led teams have managed to notch up a very impressive 68 victories. Colucci has worked on some of the most technically-advanced racecars ever produced, and has aided drivers like Wollek, Stuck, Foyt, Haywood and Bell to victory. From GT to prototype, Colucci has worked on it and brought it to victory lane.

It takes determination and skill to be able to run a successful team; the fact that Colucci and MCR have accomplished this across a number of different series and decades is even more amazing.

Having decided it was time to capitalize on his abilities, Colucci created Michael Colucci Racing (MCR) in Ft.Lauderdale, FL in 1992. Moving to Jupiter, FL in 1995. Providing extensive knowledge and expertise to his team, Colucci assembled a formidable team of mechanics for his new venture. MCR's results have been impressive, with the team working with the following teams:

Brumos Porsche - Special consultant for Porsche Motorsports USA, Porsche Factory SuperCar, with 7-consecutive wins by Hans Stuck in conjunction with Brumos

Auto Toy Store - Maintained a very extensive collection of racing cars. Also converted Spice GTP to WSC and took it to first in class at the 12 hours of Sebring in 1992

Champion Porsche - Porsche 993 GTS-1, including Sebring 12 Hour victory; also GT3/GT1 support

Metro Racing - Argo WSC

Jim Matthews Racing - WSC/Can-Am

Davies Motorsports - Porsche GT1 Turbo

Aspen Knolls - Porsche 911 GT3R and Callaway C12 in ALMS

Career Highlights

1992 to present - owner of Michael Colucci Racing in Jupiter, Fla., specializing in sports car & vintage racing. In 1999, MCR is managing a WSC program for Don and Dale Whittington in the premier division of the American Le Mans Series. MCR also prepares vintage and historic racing cars for events throughout the U.S., most notably a Ferrari BBLM and a Ferrari Spice Camel Lights car for Ed Davies.

 

During the past seven years, Michael Colucci Racing was responsible for preparing and maintaining cars for the following programs: Porsche factory Supercar for Brumos Porsche (7 consecutive wins by Hans Stuck); WSC Spice for Auto Toy Store; Porsche 993 GTS-1 for Champion Porsche; WSC for Leigh Miller Racing; WSC/Can-Am for Jim Matthews Racing; GT3/GT1 for Champion Porsche.

Prior to creating MCR, Michael was team manager/crew chief for the following efforts:
